Lucy is so weak and useless!

"The weak will always remain weak, but weakness isn't necessarily bad. People are weak creatures by nature. People's insecurities are why guilds exist, why comrades exist. They come together and move forward to live life to the fullest. If you're clumsy, you might run into more obstacles and take a long way around, but as long as you step forward with faith in tomorrow, you'll find that your strength will emerge on its own. You'll be able to smile and live life to the fullest."
-Markarov

If you honestly hate on Lucy and complain about her being weak, then I think you've completely missed the point of Fairy Tail. Listen, a major theme in this manga is team strength. The strength you get from loving and being loved. Another is, like I talked about in my Sting post, that there are different ways to be strong. And, there are different ways to be weak. Everyone has their strengths and everyone has their weaknesses. This is known. If characters don't have both, then they are flat, boring characters. We have no need for that, characters like that are unrealistic and a waste of time.

And, it shouldn't be a surprise that not everyone is physically strong. Some people are built to be power houses. Some aren't. It's stupid to expect everyone to be strong in the same way. And, why would you want that? If everyone in Team Natsu had the same strengths...that wouldn't exactly be a very balanced team, would it? The good thing about Team Natsu is that they are pretty well balanced. They work together very well.

While Lucy is a valuable addition to Team Natsu, I often see people hate on her for being weak and saying she shouldn't be a part of the team. Lucy even sees herself as weak and mentions it when invited to 'join' (remain on?) Team Natsu. But, Natsu and the rest of the guild (and me) insist that she isn't and belongs on the team.

Before you go shouting about Lucy being unworthy to be on the 'strongest' team, let me explain you a thing. Lucy is useful and has a useful place in the team. Why do I believe that? Well, have some patience, I'm getting to that. Let me start out with saying that there was no Team Natsu before Lucy joined Fairy Tail. Gray, Natsu and Happy, and Erza all went on jobs on their own. Their team formed after being on a couple of jobs together and seeing that they meshed pretty well.

Lucy works as a sort of more level-headed, cautious buffer in the team. We have Erza who is strong, aggressive, brash, punishing, and a little socially awkward. Then, we have Natsu and Gray who regularly get into fist fights and cause a lot of unnecessary destruction. Though we see them together in flash backs as children, we never see them working together on jobs before Lucy. Team Natsu actually starts with just Natsu, Lucy, and Happy, because Natsu takes a liking to Lucy. Gray and Erza are later additions. Lucy is the not as destructive, cautious, understanding, calmer, book smart, more socially capable weight on the other side of the scale that balances their team.

I think Lucy's strength is an inner strength rather than an outer one. Before I get into her inner strength (which is multifaceted), though, I would like to point out one way she is very strong outwardly. Lucy is one tough mofo. I mean, that girl can really take a beating. Gajeel throws her around and hurts her a lot to incite Natsu and the only lasting injury he leaves on her is a bruise on her side. With all of the Twilight-esque heroines who bruise so easily because they're so delicate, it's refreshing to have a heroine who has thicker, tougher skin and doesn't turn black and blue when you poke her. (I don't mean to offend any one who bruises like a peach heh heh)

Mashima likes to beat the crap out of her (o_0 I'm judging you, Mashima), but does Lucy give up? Hell no. She's not one who's against letting her emotions show and crying, but she never cries in these situations. This is where we start to move into the inner strength. Whenever Lucy is in a situation where she is outmatched and is taking the heat for it, she doesn't run away. She responds with an almost stubborn determination and will. She won't stop because she refuses to quit and let her teammates down. Lucy is actually pretty freaking brave.

Lucy is resilient. Her loyal belief in her guildmates makes her stronger. She has the strength and courage to take the abuse thrown at her, especially in the name of her friends. She is willing to deal with the pain for the sake of the people she cares about and she faces it with a smile. Not many people have that. I know I don't. This determination and strong will is similar to what kept the Fairy Tail team standing when facing Sting in the last chapter and serves to show that Lucy is Fairy Tail strong and definitely belongs in the team.

Now let's move into the inner strength. Lucy grew up pretty isolated. Her manor and the manor grounds were pretty large, but she didn't really leave them that often. Her friends were her spirits and her maids. Other than that, she was pretty lonely, wasn't she? Where am I going with this? Well, this is all Lucy knows. These grounds. She knows of the rest of the world and has gone out into it some, but most of her knowledge comes from books. So, it takes a lot of bravery and strength to leave everything she knows behind.

How often do we see people stay in a place, despite how unhappy they are, just because they can't leave? The prospect of change and being on her own had to be scary. She was leaving the place of the only people (at that moment) who cared for her. She could easily have failed and died and no one would know or care. She would have gone down in obscurity. No one was looking out for her. She was moving ahead in her life on her own. As someone who is just starting to make my own way into the world (and, unlike Lucy, I have a lot of support and help from my family and several people are looking out for me) it's freaking scary. She says she doesn't want her destiny decided for her, so she's using her own power and taking it into her own hands. Pretty impressive.

Something else that is impressive is how quickly Lucy's magical skill improves. Before she joined Fairy Tail, her spirits were mainly used for company. I don't imagine her having many opponents or even friends to spar with. Natsu and the others have grown up in the guild, using their magic in battle nearly everyday. They've fought to protect themselves and have used it in real world situations thousands of times. There is a difference in knowing how to do something and actually doing it. I mean, I could learn all about surgery and know exactly how to do it. But, would you want me performing on you over someone who has practiced on cadavers and then real people successfully? Probably not.

So, it's natural to see Lucy nervous and scared in the beginning. People often hate on her for 'backing out of a fight' or being a coward in general. She has no experience in this! She has much to learn. And, as the manga progresses, we see Lucy becoming more and more skilled. How quickly she is catching up to the others is crazy impressive. Wow.

As we follow the manga, we see Lucy go from someone who doesn't always call her spirits out in the best order and who runs out of magic at important times into someone who can call out two spirits, who has developed her spirit calling strategy, has more magic power, has improved her own physical magic so she can fight alongside her spirits, and has a ton more confidence. In the Flare fight, Lucy is a bad ass. And, this is only after a technical 'year' of being in Fairy Tail. Wow. Imagine how much more she can improve if that's the change she manages in that time.

Okay, I've wandered a little away from the inner strength point I'm making. To return to the path, I'll start with how Lucy is really freaking smart. She may not be battle smart from the start, but she is awfully book smart.

She was able to recognize a spell placed on the book and know that there was a 'true' story. The employer didn't know that and was glad that Lucy was able to figure it out. She also connected that they were related. Also, Lucy was the only person to figure out where the Mavis' grave was. And, Gray and Loke knew that she would probably be the one to be able to figure it out.

Despite the stereotype that comes with Lucy's appearance, she values intelligence and is very intelligent. And , I touched on it before in outer strength, Lucy has a strong will. She is much like Naruto in this aspect, where she attracts people to her with her kindness, compassion, and persistence. She befriends most people with ease. Even those who are difficult to befriend (those who were/should be her enemies, those who push people away on purpose) end up coming to care for the plucky blonde. Gemini, Juvia (she was one of the first guildies to befriend her), both Cocos, Yukino, Flare, Eclair, and the Spirit King.

"I said I'm going to save you no matter what! I can force open the Gate to the Spirit World; watch me!"
-Lucy

About the Spirit King. Holy crap. What a display of strength that was! Lucy called out all of her spirits at once and even the Spirit King. That is ridiculously strong. And, she could have died from that, but she did it anyways to save Loke...who she wasn't even that close with at that point. She saved him purely with her strength of both emotions and magic. And, that hasn't even been the only time Lucy has saved someone.

She's caught Natsu several times when he was going to fall after magic depletion, saved him from Angel and when he went over the waterfall, stopped Byro from catching Coco (though Natsu did come in at the end), saved Wendy and Arcadios through Horologium, and herself by jumping in the way. A lot of times, Lucy is looked down on because her magic is calling others to fight for her, but it is her magic that brings these spirits into the fight and it makes her very versatile as a mage. And, it's not like she doesn't fight alongside them. Lucy has done so much to help others in the guild, it's ridiculous to me that people call her useless or weak. Blah.

And, Lucy has won a lot of fights and has been an important aid on several as well! For simplicity, I'll list these in bullet format:
  • She helped Natsu beat Bora and his goonies by having Aquarius wash the boat to shore. If not for that, Natsu would have been helplessly motion-sick and unable to properly fight.
  • Lucy beat Duke Everlue.
  • Lucy has Virgo dig a hole so they can escape the wind tunnel and Natsu can pursue Erigor. They would have been stuck there.
  • Lucy beat Sherry (though the giant mouse did almost get her hehheh).
  • Lucy doesn't just sit around when she's captured by Jose and meets Natsu halfway, making it a great deal easier for him to rescue her.
  • Lucy has Sagittarius 'make' fire with an explosion so Natsu can regain strength from eating it and beat Gajeel.
  • Lucy helps Juvia when she is under Vidaldus Taka's spell and defeats him with her in a Unison Raid (which is a difficult skill to be able to master, showing that both women are strong mages).
  • Lucy beats Bickslow.
  • Lucy beats Angel. (Saving Natsu and Hibiki in the process)
  • Lucy doesn't get sucked up in the Anima because of her magic (Horologium) and is the only one to have magic in Edolas for a while thanks to the pill Edo Jellal gives her. (She also saves herself from the guards trying to arrest her and then her friends when they stumble upon the attempt to arrest her)
  • Lucy does most of the work of beating Byro, though Natsu does show up in the very end.
  • Her befriending Edo Coco helps them get the key and also the Legion that picks them up and saves them later.
  • Lucy and Cana 'defeat' Bickslow and Freed.
  • Lucy and Natsu beat Kain.
  • Lucy's Horologium saves Wendy when facing Hades.
  • Lucy helped a lot with the map making in the preliminary round for the games.
  • Lucy would have beat Flare without outside interference and other underhanded tricks.
  • Lucy and Yukino beat Uosuke.

There are other guild members who have never been shown to win a fight. Like, Levy. She's lost every fight shown. And, Lisanna is always having to be saved by her siblings. Yet, there isn't a lot of complaints about these characters being called weak. I'm not saying that they are weak, but why do they get to be considered to be strong while Lucy - who has been shown to do a lot more - gets called a hindrance?

My final point is that Lucy is also emotionally strong and supportive. Since this post has gotten pretty long and I'm starting to feel lazy, I'll post these in bullet points as well:

  • When Gray was getting all emotional and upset over the loss of his teacher and being presented with the monster responsible for that loss and the loss of his parents, it was Lucy who comforted him.
  • She helped Loke settle his guilt over causing (or contributing) to Karen's death.
  • Lucy encourages Erza to tell them her past so they can help her. And, she is the only one Erza confides to about Jellal saving them from the tower and, as the wiki says 'implies that she trusts her very much'.
  • Like I mentioned before, she is one of the first to befriend Juvia and is probably has a pretty good sized part in helping her realize/decide she could join the guild (though, Gray probably had the biggest and most significant part lolol).
  • Her feelings and emotions towards her spirits help Hibiki from 'falling into the darkness' and also help reunite Loke with Aries, the spirit he was trying to protect under Karen.
  • She was also able to understand but also stop Natsu from causing a huge scene when they see the Lacrima, while comforting him about being 'helpless' to save them right then. Though they end up getting caught later, this prevents them from getting caught there.
  • Lucy is very, very emotionally supportive of Cana. She rescues her from an alley and helps her gain the courage to stay in the guild and try to become an S-class mage again. Then, she forgives her even when she isn't a very good friend (in a potentially fatal way, at that) and smooths over it to help soften the guilt Cana felt about that. And, then she helps encourage her to finally reveal to Gildarts that she's his daughter, even though no one was promoted to S-class. Lucy has been a wonderful friend to Cana. <3
  • She is also supportive towards Yukino, who has shown in recent chapters to think very little of herself, by not allowing her to give up her keys and telling her that her relationship with her spirits is strong and that's what matters. Bascially, stops her from giving up on being a Celestial Mage. She could have easily snatched those keys up greedily.
  • Heck, Lucy is even emotionally supportive to herself. After Future-Lucy sacrifices herself to save...herself...she tells her not to feel bad. That, either way, Future-Lucy was going to die. It was better this way.
Man. Look at that. Look at all that useful stuff she does. Lucy is a such a freaking great person. And, this is why she's my favorite.

tl;dr: If you hate Lucy, I don't think we can be friends.

(Wow. This was so long that I'm almost sorry.)

Future Rogue Theory

Okay. So, here's my humble theory about what's going down. (Don't read if you aren't caught up on manga):

I think that, in the original time line, the gate opened and a bunch a bad stuff happened. We know that Natsu dies in this original time line and a lot of other people die as well. So, after this terrible tragedy, Lucy goes back in time in a desperate attempt to try and change this. In this second time line, Lucy probably discovers some reason why the gate has to be closed. Maybe it's really being used to aid the dragon attack. Maybe it's being used by someone who wants Zeref's power or Zeref himself or something along those lines. Who knows?  For whatever reason, she finds out that she needs to close the gate, so she closes the gate in the second timeline, which would explain why Future Lucy wouldn't know about closing the gate. She hasn't done it yet.

So, Future Rogue (or someone masquerading as Rogue or Possessed-By-The-Shadow Rogue) comes from seven years in the future to stop Lucy from discovering whatever she discovers and preventing the future he wants from happening. I think this because:

  • Lucy is a pretty reasonable person. If Rogue could explain what would happen in the future without being suspicious, she would believe and listen to him. But, all he does is accuse Lucy and then quickly tries to end her life, which he probably does to make completely sure that she can’t discover what is wrong with opening the gates.
  • He keeps talking about how fate can’t be changed. He can’t let Lucy live because she is fated to close the gates. He can kill Natsu because Natsu is fated to die. But, he went back in time to change fate. That is what he is claiming, right? He claims he wants to save the future. What he says and what he does are conflicting. But, if he’s actually going back in time to prevent the future from changing, then he isn’t being hypocritical.
  • Mashima took the time to introduce this shadow character that we know has the ability to take over Rogue and control him. We saw that shadow take over him and change him. The shadow has a completely different personality from Rogue as well, that the Future Rogue seems to share. Huh. How suspicious. Natsu even comments on Future Rogue’s change in personality. Present Rogue has a kind smile and is quiet and soft spoken. Future Rogue is more like the shadow where he is cocky, smug, and condescending.  I’m like 85% sure that Future Rogue is being possessed by the shadow. He even has these suspicious tattoos/marks on him. The chapter he appears in is called The Shadow That Comes and Goes. Sure, Rogue uses shadows as his magic, but I think that it’s more likely that this is referring to the shadow that possessed him during his fight with Gajeel.
  • Future Rogue doesn’t even act like someone who’s come back to save the future. He doesn’t seem desperate or worried at all. Future Lucy was agitated, injured, anxious, and desperate. But, he keeps smirking and seems to be laughing at them. Why would someone who claims he comes from such a horrible future that he has to change act that way? It doesn’t make sense.
  • God, Future Rogue is so suspicious. Natsu says he can smell evil on him (which, btw, I took as something similar to when a dog can sense someone is dangerous or malicious and will growl and be hostile to them) and what does Future Rogue do? He freaking makes this smug-ass face. I mean, LOOK AT HIS CHARACTER DESIGN! It just screams villain!

At first, I was willing to trust Future Rogue and give him a chance, but I now I think he’s shady as hell and not to be trusted. I get bad vibes from him and think he’s bad news. This isn’t the Rogue that Mashima has slowly been revealing to us as kind and gentle. He tells Natsu that seven years can change a person, but why would seven years of terrible-ness and loss turn someone kind and gentle into an arrogant prick? I would expect him to be more jaded and cynical than anything.

So, we are now entering a third time line, where Lucy is worried that she'll destroy the future because of what Future Rogue said about what would happen. But, she also seems to be wary of the gate. Why is it open already? Why would she close it? She can’t imagine closing the gate unless she had a really good reason to do so. She probably has very jumbled feelings and thoughts about what is going on and is probably really worried about messing things up. I feel so bad for her. ):

Natsu better not freaking die.

So, About That Sting Kid

Holy shit. Sting Eucliffe’s character development was so subtle that I didn’t even notice it until it hit its climax. And, he’s developed so much. It’s hella crazy. And, I have so much to say about it, so – if you stick with me throughout the whole post – there’s gonna be a lot of words.

Okay. So, Sting seems a little confusing at first. He says and does lots of conflicting things.

Why does he do this? I don't think it's because he's a hypocrite. On the contrary, I think it's actually because of how he views strength and weakness. Something that he really starts to struggle with after Natsu and the rest of Fairy Tail show up. And, I think this is where his character development starts. Almost right at the beginning.

We don't know a lot about Sting's past. We know that he's a Dragon Slayer. One who has a lacrima and was raised by a dragon. And, that he killed the dragon who raised him. We don't know what his dragon was like, what his childhood was like before the dragon, who put the lacrima in him, why that person implanted the lacrima, the circumstances surrounding him joining Sabertooth...basically, there's a lot we don't know. So, my first point is a little bit of conjecture.

To Sting, strength is being able to stand alone and beat anyone. That strength is being able to take down those who are above you and put yourself on the top. My conjecture with his dragon, is that he killed Weisslogia not just to become a 'real Dragon Slayer' but to prove himself. How can he be strong if there were people (or magical beasts) stronger than him? If he's weaker than anyone, than he's not strong. So, that's why I think he killed his dragon. He had to defeat his dragon to move up and to show that he was strong.

I think that Sting views relying on anyone as weakness. That needing or accepting help from anyone was a sign of weakness. We often see him trying to do things on his own. Having mercy, needing your team or friends, letting others care about you, losing any fight...these are signs of weakness. He doesn't hate his comrades  but he'll be damned if he accepts their help. Strength is survival of the fittest.

And, this is where his development comes in. Natsu and the rest of Fairy Tail show up and they challenge this viewpoint that he's built his whole life around. Something that has stopped him from making meaningful relationships with anyone other than his Exceed, someone he was allowed to befriend because Sting wasn't in danger of relying on him. They show up with their conflicting idea that friends and accepting help could make you strong. That there's more than one way to be strong. And, they are incredibly strong.

So, to Sting, beating Natsu becomes even more important. It's like with his dragon, where he needs to prove himself. If he can beat Natsu then he isn't wrong and he can continue his life style unchallenged. Sting needs to win, otherwise he has to come to terms with the fact that he's been a bad person. And, he'll have to change his way of thinking. Things that he accepted as a part of life and the need to be strong will be wrong and allowing things like what happened to Yukino happen would make him bad.

This is the ultimate fight to prove himself. And...he loses it. In front of everyone and the person (well, Exceed) that he made a promise to win for. This is the ultimate sign of weakness for him. Him and Rogue were beat down by someone who claimed to get his strength from his friends. Someone who said that strong people took care of their friends, even when they broke 'the rule' and were weak. That his friend failing their fights didn't make him weaker or hold him back, but in fact made him stronger. Natsu represents everything that he thinks makes a person weak and somehow gains strength from these things. Sting lost spectacularly to someone who technically should be weak.
(Not to mention, Natsu was able to do what he couldn't: take on two dragon slayers and win.)

After the battle with Natsu is over, he finds himself in the same position as Yukino. This time he lost a serious match that he actually gave his best in. There were no excuses. At this point - even while he is already being forced to come to terms with losing his most important fight - he realizes how much he actually relies on Lector. Lector was his only true friend and emotional support. Even in the face of being kicked from the guild from their cruel and strict leader, Lector stands up for him. (Which, by the way, is another form of strength that comes from your friends...further driving Natsu's victory over Sting)

Then, on top of that, Sting isn't even strong enough to protect his friend who tried to protect him.

I think when he's shown sitting and waiting for his part in the final fight, that he's not just preparing himself for his part, but is also having a sort of inner battle. He has a lot of things to rethink.

Then, oh God, Fairy Tail is so strong. Even if they're beaten up and it would be so easy for him to defeat them, he knows it won't be a real win. He hasn't beat them in their best shape. And, even knowing how easy it would be for him to finish them off, they aren't going down without a fight. It is pure strength and determination that is keeping them standing. They are still standing for their friends and 'family'. This is real strength.

And, Sting realizes that compared to them, he is weak. So incredibly weak and bad and pathetic. If he were to continue on with the plan, he knows that it will only confirm that he is bad. It wouldn't be the sort of fight that he could proudly tell Lector about. He would be just like Gemma, taking someone down for protecting their friends in a way that wouldn't be fair.

His inner battle comes to an end as he realizes that these guys - while stronger than him - aren't that much different from him. That, even though he tried to do things alone and not need help, he still relied on Lector. That Lector was a huge factor in what strength he did have. And, he knows he can't continue as he is.

He surrenders. The only reason he's fighting is for Lector. He doesn't want to win this for Sabertooth. At this point, I think he couldn't give a shit about Sabertooth. What's the point in continuing the fight? Even if he gets Lector back, what will the Exceed think? And, when facing this level of determination and character, he is horribly outmatched.

And, isn't it great that at his lowest point, he's reunited with Lector? He's finally come to terms with being wrong. He's ready to start over. And, like a reward for realizing this, his best friend is returned to him. It was a truly beautiful moment. (':

If he joins Fairy Tail after this, I won't be mad in the least. It would be perfectly logical. The master and others in the guild are big believers in redemption. And, Sting is at the point in his life where he needs to turn over a new, better leaf. He has so much potential and his personality actually fits with the feelings of Fairy Tail. It always seemed to me that his talk and actions didn't really fit what he actually thought a lot of the time.  And, looking back, it seems like his expression shows his inner struggle pretty often. What had seemed like a slightly crazed look to me before now looks like he's fighting himself. Like, he was lying to himself.
I would love to see him in Fairy Tail. I don't care if they have too many Dragon Slayers.

tl;dr: I'm pretty much in love with Sting Eucliffe.

Lucy is a whore/slut/prostitute/skank/hooker/consort/etc!

You shut your dirty hooker mouth right now!

No. But seriously. I think this, of all of the criticisms that Lucy gets, is the most frustrating. It is also, just after being called weak, the most common one. Ignoring the suckiness of slut-shaming, this accusation is ridiculous because it has absolutely no base.

1. Can you really single one person out as a slut/whore/what-have-you in an anime that is heavy with fanservice?

"Herpderp, Lucy is a slut!"
"Really? Why do you say that?"
"She dresses in really revealing clothes and her boobs are always in your face!"
"Huh. What about Erza, Mirajane, and pretty much everyone else in the series?"
"What do you mean?"

This is what I mean:

But, of course, Lucy is the only one who is a slut. I wish there wasn't as much as fanservice like a lot of other fans, but how does it even make sense to hate one character for something pretty much all of the female characters are guilty of? Mirajane had a fanservice battle with what's-her-name from that-one-guild, and yet, I don't think I've ever encountered her being called a slut.

I've seen Lucy compared to Lisanna in this aspect, too (once again because of shipping wars). The common thing to say is that Lucy is just a fanservice character, while Lisanna is cute and isn't used for fanservice.

Isn't used for fanservice?

Oops. That outfit is skimpier than what Lucy wears generally. And, she is a cosplaying fetish dream. She just doesn't have as much screen time.

All of these characters have other aspects to them. None of them are merely fanservice characters. They all have (mostly tragic) backstories, personalities, strengths, and weaknesses. Lucy has such a developed and complex character...I don't understand how anyone can accuse her of existing solely for fanservice. She's what introduces us to the rest of Fairy Tail. We're following her adventure and it seems experiencing what she's written. She's thoughtful, compassionate, smart, tough, loving, lovable, kind, creative, gentle, perceptive, fierce...frankly, it's insulting to Mashima to say she is only for fanservice.

2. We want girls to be comfortable and happy with their bodies, but then we call girls who are these things sluts? Wut.

Another reason that Lucy is given the slut-label is because she is confident with her body. She likes how she looks and isn't ashamed of her body. Like with the fanservice, Lucy is not alone in this. Fairy Tail women are all very confident and comfortable with themselves. Even Juvia, who often wears clothes that cover most of her body, doesn't shy away from instances where she reveals her body (swimsuits, etc) and has even asked Gray (to no avail) if he wanted to be the first person to see her in her new swimsuit.

Lucy also 'uses' her body in attempt to win or get what she wants.

Firstly, she doesn't actually sell her body. She doesn't exchange sexual favors for things. Typically, she is doing so for a distraction. Which, why wouldn't you use what you've got if you're in danger? And, it's also one of the many Fairy Tail gags. How often does this actually work? Never. Why? I would venture to say it doesn't work because Lucy has no experience in being seductive. She is innocent and naive and is doing what she thinks is 'sexy'. She generally gets more attention when she isn't trying.

Secondly, must I reference the Mirajane fanservice fight again?

3. How can someone who has never had a boyfriend, who is a virgin, and has never even kissed a person be a slut?

Yup, this naive and inexperienced girl is a huge-o slutbag.

In summary: Lucy isn't a slut. You can't single her out. Liking yourself isn't a crime. She is a complex character. Lisanna is fanservice-y too. Just...don't call people sluts, k? Even if they are a slut, what's it to you?

Sometimes, I get overly attached to fictional characters. To the point, where I’m so protective of them, that it is almost (probably) ridiculous. If someone says something bad about them, I’m all like, “What’d you say about my precious child, you horrible person who lacks a heart!?!?” For me, the first and only anime character who has gained this status with me would be one Lucy Heartfilia. I mean, I’ve had favorite anime characters, but Lucy is my very favorite. Very. Favorite. (Read: This does not mean that I hate Lisanna. I love Lisanna as well, though to a lesser degree…you can like both characters, people!) However, in part because of shipping battles, I find her character bashed quite a bit. Which means that I am continuously sticking up for the poor girl. Because of that, I want to start my Fairy Tail blog with a mini-series of posts defending Lucy against the main things that I see repeatedly brought up against her. So stay tuned for that! After that will be about the dynamics of Team Natsu.  After after that…has not been planned yet.

Merry Christmas!

First Post is First Post

Hello, hello!

This is my first blog post! I feel like I'm overdoing it with the exclamation points! But, I'm just that excited! The purpose of this post is to get the first post out of the way and to help with testing the format and yadda yadda. The purpose of this blog is to share my thoughts about Fairy Tail. I walk a lot on campus and have plenty of time to think about these sort of things too deeply. So. Yeah.

Dats da End.
